  On 19 July, 2009, SmartEcoBuild.tv launched at Green-Works, 94-96

Queensbury Road, Wembley HA0 1QG, the starts of their series of shorts towards a

feature film on the mobile platforms.

On World Environment Day, we were asked to

be ‘United Against Climate . How can we take action to ensure our buildings:1)

Mitigate against climate change 2) Adapt against climate change.

Mitigating against climate change require us to think about how we can reduce ecological footprint. For most of us in London it requires us to think on: a) how we use the shelters- including heat/cold, lighting, resources within it- within the context of reduce, reuse and recycle our resources.

The construction of buildings and its maintenance as indeed pointed out by eminent green personnels and White Paper in London is one of the largest consumer of carbon footprint. This is inspite that there is little scope for new Build. This is when we have taken into account - how we reduce, reuse and reduce the consumption of the many resources we use in it.

Adapting against Climate change requires that we must

prepare our build against increasingly occurrence of flood, earthquakes,

hurricane, heat,waves.

North & South Pole Switch is a fiction feature film which

begins with the aftermath of massive chains of natural disasters as result of the

none-fiction North & South Pole Switch- already happening in real life, where the

switch is focused to be completed in the latter part of 2012.

The film shows how mankind is been thrown into low impact build by natural disaster – in contrasts to the flashback scenes where there were so much cynicism during normal times- current times.

Reducing ecological footprints by lowering C02, energy consumption (and saving

a few pounds along the way) is now household knowledge But how many of us know

how construction materials make a difference towards mitigating climate change? More

significantly, how many of us know what we could do if we were caught in a natural

Disaster? How do we adapt our buildings to natural disasters, which are predicted to be

on the rise? How about the cutural variation or even geographic variation within London?
