The 2012 Cultural Olympiad:  Reclaming The Legacy of The first Olympic

  What?

  The first Olympic solved the crisis of its time- a much needed period of peace through sports. We invite you to contribute towards the crisis of our time - through our series of annual evolution towards exemplary mass communication towards the Cutural Olympaid 2012- albeit one- which are good role models - which will truely regenerate London and the world- by the grassroot for the grassroot of London and the world.

  Annually, a two hour feature film comprising of a series of connecting shorts will be shown as part of a series of annual 'evolution' of contribution from the communities- to be more-' you-the voiceless minority yet the majority culture- led- albeit those real people- who made a difference to the street of London or the street of your city-or town or village - towards a more grassroot inclusiveness for The Cultural Olympiad 2012 archive. The original shorts as well as diverse multi-media format will be showcased as different categories. The selection process towards inclusion into the 2 hour feature film will be showcased. This will assist the grassroot community in learning about the art of making mass media which will communicate good role models on issues that are prevalent whilst entertaining our contemporary culture.

  However, it does not exclude those majority - such as corporate and institution contributors -who are wish enough- to see the significance of these voiceless minority yet majority led culture- in shaping -those aspect of ' the human legacy'- the forgotten aspect- of - the first Olympic- the basal human's need for peace and solidarity for human's glory beyond the bloodshed and all the dark side of human nature.

   Why?

  Most of us know what we are supposed to do when it comes to been 'green'. Why is the uptake of a green-led lifestyle still somewhat wanting? Is it because there is not enough role model? Is it because there is not enough means for ease of adoption in our daily lives? When it comes to technology playing a part, what model do we take? Some say with all the 'top' down- campaigners, legislations, contemporary popular science, technology, and other 'popular' culture, we are in danger of losing the communities spirit- the natural drive, /resilence for technology- be it man-made, improvised or natural even- all of which would be within our grasp.

  The first Olympic came about so as to have a period of peace through using sport as a solidarity focus for each country. Instead of bloodshed, the legacy is that instead of hostility expressed in bloodshed it is now harnessed into competition in sports between countries.The Olympic 2012 will be held in London in a climate of unprecendence -youth's fatalities. Many has attributed this to be caused by bad examples in mass communication-games, advertising, film and internet contents. Others has attributed this to be due to the lack of purposeful solidarity, hope, role model and positive and caring solidarity - other than looking after 'number one' through consumerism. In memory of youth whose lives have been cut short and for us the living to bring fore a legacy of change, we will be grateful for your collaboration as well as others like 'more than gold'- in bringing fore a Cultural Olympiad- of creative mass media/ communication which is exciting in the customarily style which would excite youth of today, yet, - putting strong worth on core values- which are no longer fashionable but the erosion of which has led to a culture which had led to the death of youth. It is fitting that alongside the Olympic 2012 , we brought forward a Cultural Olympiad which superceded those value in creative excellence- alone- as is currently the case.

   How?

  We invite you- the voiceless grassroot in London- to be totally wicked- and be totally creative in contributing your thinking and illustration and arguement on: 'what sort of technologies could help to solve the crisis in climate changes? We invite you to take part in the competition. Possible questions you may like to tackle. 'Are you naturally 'green' technology-led- if you are poor?. If so, what lessons can you show the rest of the population?' If you are loaded, and are 'presumed educated' what model of technology do you see as enabling towards solving the crisis in climate change? All these are footages- we want you to contribute towards 'The Interval' and the postscript.
